    Women and Child Welfare Department

    The Head of Women and Child Welfare Department is a Class 1 officer of the State Government with the designation of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Child Welfare). Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Child Welfare) is the Secretary of Women and Child Welfare Committee of Zilla Parishad. A class 2 officer works to control a total of 9 projects at Panchayat Samiti level and is designated as Child Development Project Officer.

    There are 1570 sanctioned Anganwadi’s in the district and 243 Mini Anganwadi’s. The aim of this department is to eliminate malnutrition in rural areas, provide non-formal education, provide training to teenage girls on pregnancy care after marriage, and guide pregnant mothers on diet and health. Also, through this department, various schemes are implemented from central, state government and district fund of district council. It includes the following schemes.

    These schemes are for families below poverty line.

    1. Providing two wheeler cycle to school girls on 100 percent subsidy.
    2. Subsidy Scheme for Marriage of Widow.
    3. Providing solar lanterns to women/girls in rural areas on 90 percent subsidy.
    4. Providing cosmetology training to rural women/girls on 90 percent subsidy.
    5. M.Sc. I.T. 12th pass for scheduled caste.
    6. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Amrut Diet Plan.
