Public Works Department, Zilla Parishad The head of the department is a Class 1 officer of the State Government. His designation is Executive Engineer (Construction). The same officer is the Secretary of the Construction Committee of the District Council. In addition, two Class 1 officers work as Sub-Divisional Engineers working in 2 sub-divisions in the district as Sub-Divisional Officers of Class-1 to control at Panchayat Samiti level.

Basic amenities in the rural areas of the district include buildings and roads. Every village in rural areas should be connected by road. For this the system in this department is strict. Completing the regular works of the current year within time and planning for the next year and following up with the government for the necessary funds, maintenance of VR, ODR, and MDR etc. roads. Apart from this, road construction has been done on a large scale in this district under the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
