Primary Education Department

The Head of the Education Department is a Class 1 officer of the State Government with the designation Education Officer (Primary). Also, two Class 2 officers are working as Deputy Education Officers in this department. A Class 2 officer is designated as Group Education Officer for control at the Panchayat Samiti level.

The district has a total of 1017 primary schools, 21 secondary schools and 17 higher secondary schools in the district. The objective of this department is to implement the schemes implemented by the central and state governments to improve the quality of education in rural areas. In this department, the Central Government campaign is being implemented for this purpose, the name is Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The funds received in this campaign are utilized and implemented as per the orders of the government. The recruitment, transfer, adjustment, promotion, periodical promotion, inter-district transfer, exemplary teacher award, retirement cases, leave cases, right to information etc. are handled through this department.
